Observation: 4/4/2011

Team Teaching:

Topic: Area, perimeter

-Engaged with a physical activity ("stand up if...") to begin with
-Cool animation, with explanation
-Set up Learning Objectives "Today we're going to learn..."
-Big questions, whole class listening
-Big graphics, asked different people as well as questions aimed at anyone
-Cleared up obvious potholes and snares
-Kept DI short
-Regrouped after project
-Accept that some students won't have completed the task
-Reaffirmed the aims and saw that a consensus was reached concerning everyone's findings
-Referred to the findings of the students, "As [student name] said/found/told us..."
-"Who else found that?" Gave students a sense of accomplishment/recognition
